2. Find a speech on Youtube (by a famous person or that you feel is well done)
3. Then write a paragraph that describes what HOOK technique from the link above is used in the speech and why it was or was not effective in getting your attention.
4. Considering the notes that you read in the outline (sixminutes) website, explain HOW the speaker in your video uses structure/organization in their speech.

SPEECH WRITING: INQUIRY
1. Find 2 temeplates for outlining speeches: Save one in your documents
2. Watch an example of 3 short speeches by 3 different people on youtube
***Consider: topic, gender, Movies/political/ted talk ect., motivational/inspirational
3. In your journal: Record the names of the 3 people you watched and what the main topic was
then: write a sentence or two about how they hooked the audience and what technical things you enjoyed watching. (For example: Martin Luther king> "I have a Dream" > Dr. king looked up to his audience and hooked us with the dilivery in his voice and projection/tone in each statement. he appeared to truely belive what he was saying and therefor he came accross as beliveable and inspiring)
4. Make a list of the top 5 things that you think you need to do when delivering and/or writng a speech

Watch the video and read the lyrics/words of the rants. Then take a minute to go through a couple of "identity" rants from Mr. N's past students (or parody examples below). Decide on a topic that represent YOU as a person and create your "I AM" rant based on a few of these details. Think about how you could present this rant or your "I Am" poem to the class using images, music and your own personality twist. (ex. dress up in character, pantomime, poetry slam)
