Book CLub: Choice Novel journals and meetings
Book Dating Log: Use two pages near the back of your journal OR type the following information out about each novel as you "date" it and consider. You will be required to review 6 of the 8 novels I recommend.

Choice Novel: Research all of the "Book Club" options books from the class and write down:
a) The title and author of each.
b) Read a review of the novel and even a preview of the first chapter or text (IF YOU CAN) to try and find out the style and voice of the author. Briefly describe what the novel is about
c) Rank your interest in the novel out of 5.
d) *THEN...see if you can find the price to purchase the digital version of the top 3 novels you are interested in and write the name of the company (Amazon for example) where you can purchase it and the price. Do the same for the Audible version of the novels.
***For your actual journal you will choose the novel you prefer to read and explain WHY it is your number one choice. You will be posting this on the Teams chat in a couple of weeks.

Quotes = What are things that character or the narrator says that have an impact on your understanding? Is the language descriptive? Does it use literary devices? Can you connect to the language or concept from your personal experiences? How do they describe the setting? The Mood? Create suspense?
Events = Describe specific events in your novel as you come across them that stand out as critical moments, turning points or that just surprise you in general and explain your personal understanding of the event OR make a personal connection to it.
Inquiry = Questions about plot, people, places, objects or anything that makes you want to know more about a topic from the novel. Experienced based questions can demonstrate a deeper understanding as you force yourself to think about what you might do or how people in general might react similarly of different in a situation.
***Note: You will be posting in a channel choice novel or group channel on Teams and will be prompted weekly to share notes, quotes and opinions about the themes, events and characters within your chosen novel. You will also have a variety of both written and/or visual representations of your chosen novel.
